A SpiceJet flight bound for Leh with approximately 150 passengers had to return to Delhi Airport shortly after takeoff due to a technical problem. The Boeing 737 aircraft, operating as flight SG121, turned back to Delhi after the crew identified a potential technical issue. All passengers were safely disembarked upon landing in Delhi, with no reported fire warning in the cockpit.
The airline spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that the flight from Delhi to Leh on February 24 had to return to Delhi due to the technical issue. The aircraft landed safely in Delhi, and all passengers were deplaned without any complications. According to sources at the airport, the issue was possibly related to the second engine of the aircraft.
In a separate incident in November, a SpiceJet flight traveling from Mumbai to Kolkata had to make an emergency landing due to an engine failure. The aircraft landed safely at Kolkata Airport, ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew members. Similarly, in September, a SpiceJet Q400 flight from Kandla airport to Mumbai had to make an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after an issue with an outer wheel was detected post-takeoff.
Another SpiceJet flight, this time bound for Patna, returned to Delhi in October following a technical problem shortly after takeoff. The airline managed the situation by arranging an alternate aircraft to accommodate the passengers, ensuring a safe landing and disembarkation for all travelers.
