Spiritual leader Dhirendra Krishna Shastri criticized the embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, labeling it as a severe transgression. Shastri emphasized the importance of having faith in the ongoing investigation and the legal system of the country.
Arriving at Ayodhya airport, Shastri reiterated his stance on the issue, stressing that the alleged misappropriation was not just a sin but a significant wrongdoing that would face divine retribution. He urged the public to trust in the law enforcement agencies and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the case.
Shastri’s visit to Ayodhya was to pay respects at the ashram of Mahant Sant Ram Das, the late guru of Hanumangarhi priest Raju Das Ji. Following this visit, he is scheduled to depart from Ayodhya airport later in the day.
The controversy surrounding the mismanagement of donations and offerings at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has attracted significant attention. Allegations of irregularities have been linked to workers engaged by the State Bank of India (SBI) for the counting of offerings at the temple.
Prakash Gupta, the Trust’s Office In-charge, pointed out that the responsibility for the counting process lay with the SBI, which had deployed personnel for the task. While a Trust member oversaw the counting, there was no prior knowledge of any theft.
The situation escalated with the arrest of eight individuals in connection with the alleged embezzlement. Gupta revealed that those arrested were involved in the counting process, with one individual, Tinnu Yadav, overseeing the counting operations and certain maintenance tasks within the temple premises.
Leaders and religious figures have called for transparency and accountability in light of the allegations, underscoring the need for a thorough investigation and justice to prevail.
