Students affiliated with the All India Students Association (AISA) protested during the annual Senate meeting at Patna University (PU). Amid campus tension, protesting students climbed onto the university gates, criticizing the Bihar administration. The situation led to heavy police deployment around the university premises.
Protesters raised slogans against alleged police repression and the university administration’s suppression of student voices. They demanded better provisions in the Senate budget for student welfare and basic campus facilities. The students also opposed recent fee hikes and expressed concerns about police actions on campus.
During the Senate meeting, discussions will focus on introducing new employment-oriented and skill-based courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The agenda includes proposals for online courses and a new undergraduate course in Human Resource Management for ex-servicemen. The meeting aims to approve decisions made by the Academic Council for the upcoming financial year.
