After being sworn in as the ninth Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari expressed his commitment to restoring the state’s cultural and educational heritage. Adhikari emphasized the need to revitalize West Bengal’s rich culture and address the challenges in the education sector, stating that his primary focus is on rebuilding the state rather than engaging in criticism.
During a media interaction at Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home in Kolkata, Adhikari highlighted the significant losses suffered by West Bengal and underscored the enormity of the responsibilities ahead. He refrained from making controversial statements and urged others to exercise good judgment, especially regarding the recent election results in the state.
On the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary according to the Bengali calendar, Chief Minister Adhikari paid homage to the legendary figure in Kolkata. Adhikari expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to assume office on a day that coincided with Gurudev’s birth anniversary, seeking blessings and inspiration from Tagore’s timeless words.
Adhikari drew inspiration from Tagore’s words advocating for a society free from fear, filled with knowledge, and devoid of divisive barriers. He expressed confidence that West Bengal would progress towards development and fulfillment under his leadership, aiming to steer the state towards a path of growth and prosperity.
