Taliban’s Minister of Higher Education, Nida Mohammad Nadeem, stated that Afghanistan’s patience and restraint towards Pakistani attacks do not signify weakness. He assured that Kabul will retaliate against Islamabad at the right time and circumstances. Nadeem emphasized that Afghan resolve remains strong despite recent attacks, like the one at Sayed Jamaluddin University in Kunar, which he believes will not hinder the country’s scientific progress.
The minister highlighted that the Taliban, born from adversity and familiar with sacrifice, will vigorously defend their system. He clarified that patience should not be misinterpreted as feebleness, asserting the movement’s readiness to respond robustly when needed. The recent Pakistani strikes in Afghanistan’s Kunar province resulted in seven deaths and 75 injuries, affecting areas like Asadabad and Sarkano district, including Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan University.
Following the attacks, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Pakistani Embassy’s Charge d’Affaires in Kabul to protest the assaults on civilian targets. Kabul condemned Pakistan for targeting public facilities along the Durand Line and violating Afghan airspace. The Ministry decried these actions as breaches of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity, international norms, and provocative acts.
The Afghan ministry rejected claims that the escalation originated from their side, urging a thorough investigation into the situation’s root causes. Afghanistan called on Pakistan to refrain from such actions, warning of adverse consequences if the irresponsible behavior continues. Kabul reiterated its legitimate right to defend its people and land against external threats.
