Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao expressed pride as Telangana was ranked among India’s top five upper-middle-income states by the World Bank. He credited this success to the efforts of the people of Telangana and the initiatives undertaken by BRS during the 10-year tenure led by K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR).
Responding to reports on the World Bank’s per capita income classification, Rama Rao emphasized that this recognition serves as a strong rebuttal to claims of Telangana’s financial instability. The World Bank’s classification indicates that five states have surpassed the threshold for upper-middle-income status based on per capita income.
Leading the list is Delhi with a per capita income of $6,217, followed by Karnataka and Telangana in the second and third positions with per capita incomes of $5,579 and $5,407, respectively. Tamil Nadu and Gujarat secured the fourth and fifth spots with per capita incomes of $5,329 and $4,734.
K.T. Rama Rao expressed pride in Telangana’s progress, stating that the state has transitioned into a prosperous entity since its formation. He highlighted the significant transformation from poverty to wealth over the past decade, attributing this success to the collective efforts of the people of Telangana.
The BRS leader emphasized that Telangana has not only avoided failure but has emerged as a successful and affluent state. He commended the citizens for their hard work and dedication, which have propelled Telangana to the status of an upper-middle-income state and debunked allegations of financial instability.
K.T. Rama Rao asserted that Telangana’s wealth and income have substantially increased since its establishment, citing international organizations’ acknowledgment of the state’s economic development under KCR’s leadership. He viewed the recent World Bank report as a strong response to unfounded claims about Telangana’s financial health.
