Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari to secure Union Cabinet approval for commencing work on the northern section of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), citing that 95% of land acquisition is already done. Reddy also requested approvals for the Southern Section of the RRR during his meeting with Gadkari in Delhi.
Reddy emphasized that starting work on both RRR sections simultaneously would expedite construction and lower costs. Additionally, he appealed to Gadkari to promptly approve the Greenfield Highway linking Hyderabad to Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amaravati, a project mandated by the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.
Furthermore, Reddy sought forest department clearances for the Mannanur-Srisailam elevated corridor, which encompasses the Nallamala Sanctuary, Srisailam Temple, and Srisailam reservoirs. He also asked for a six-lane alternative highway from Mancherial to Hyderabad, offering new opportunities for agriculture and business development.
In a separate meeting with Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu, CM Reddy urged the construction of airports in Warangal (Mamnoor) and Adilabad to international standards. Reddy highlighted the strategic importance of these airport locations and outlined plans for further industrial development in Warangal.
Reddy emphasized Warangal’s significance as a well-connected city with key industries like the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and the Kazipet Coach Factory. He proposed Warangal as a central hub for multiple regions in North Telangana and requested facilities such as Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul, air cargo, and hangars at the Warangal airport.
