Telangana experienced a cold wave, with certain areas registering temperatures in single digits on Monday. Kohir in Sangareddy district was the coldest spot at 5 degrees Celsius, followed by Reddy Palle in Moinabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district at 6.9 degrees Celsius. Out of 33 districts, 17 saw temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. Notable temperatures included Sirpur (U) at 7 degrees Celsius, Arili at 8.3 degrees, Nawabpet at 8.7 degrees, Pothareddipet at 9.5 degrees, Damarancha at 9.5 degrees, and Gandhari at 9.7 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures dropped significantly in various places, including Hyderabad and its surroundings. Dense fog affected areas in the outskirts of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Medak, Adilabad, and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a cold wave alert for seven districts, predicting temperatures between 5-10 degrees Celsius till December 26. An orange alert was issued for these districts. Additionally, a yellow alert was issued for other districts, forecasting temperatures between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius for the next five days. The remaining 11 districts are expected to have temperatures above 15 degrees Celsius. Dry weather is anticipated over Telangana for the next two days, with minimum temperatures likely to be 3 to 4 degrees Celsius below normal at some places. Hyderabad and its adjacent areas are forecasted to have a partly cloudy sky for the next 24 hours. Morning hours may see fog or mist, while night hours may have mist or hazy conditions. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 28 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius, respectively.
