The Telangana state government has completed the reservation process for wards and mayor positions in 121 municipalities and 10 corporations, a crucial step for the upcoming municipal elections. The reservations include categories for Scheduled Tribes (STs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), Backward Classes (BCs), and women.

In the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), out of 300 wards, 122 will be reserved for BCs, with 61 for BC women, and 76 seats reserved for women. Additionally, there will be 74 unreserved wards, with specific allocations for STs and SCs, ensuring diverse representation in the municipal body.

The government has also finalized the reservation of wards for various corporations like Kothagudem, Khammam, Warangal, Nizamabad, and others. The State Election Commission has released the voter list for most municipalities and corporations, with elections expected to take place next month, following the completion of voter mapping processes.
