Telugu Desam Party’s candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, Sana Satish, Bashyam Ramakrishna, and Chintakayala Vijay, submitted their nomination papers at the State Legislative Assembly. They were supported by TDP leaders and workers during the process. Before filing their nominations, the candidates paid respects to the late Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao at the party’s central office.
The TDP recently announced its nominees for the Rajya Sabha polls, with Sana Satish being renominated as one of the retiring members. Additionally, educationist Bhashyam Ramakrishna and newcomer Chintakayala Vijay were named as the party’s other candidates. As part of the NDA’s seat-sharing agreement, the TDP is contesting three seats, reserving the fourth for the Jana Sena Party.
Lingamaneni Ramesh, representing the JSP, also filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha candidacy. Sana Satish, a key aide to TDP’s Nara Lokesh, entered the Upper House on a short-term basis previously. Bhashyam Ramakrishna, known for founding the Bhashyam group in the education sector, belongs to the influential Kamma community, akin to TDP’s N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Chintakayala Vijay, son of Andhra Assembly Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu, hails from a backward class background and is a rising leader aligned with Lokesh. Expressing gratitude towards Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh for the opportunity, Vijay pledged to fulfill his responsibilities diligently. The Rajya Sabha elections for the four seats are set for June 18, with the NDA expected to secure all seats based on its strong presence in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
