Tesla introduced the new six-seater Model Y L in India, a family-focused electric SUV emphasizing space, comfort, and performance. The launch event occurred at the Ballard Pier Downtown Experience Centre, with immediate online bookings available on Tesla’s official website. Starting April 23, 2026, the Model Y L will be on display at Tesla’s experience centers in key locations like Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, Delhi’s Aerocity, and Gurugram, with deliveries expected to commence from June 2026.
Positioned as a premium family vehicle, the Model Y L boasts a claimed driving range of up to 681 km (WLTP) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. Featuring a three-row, six-seat layout, the SUV prioritizes cabin space, comfort, and versatility. The second-row captain seats offer powered armrests, ventilation, heating, and one-touch folding, while the third row provides power recline, climate control vents, and easy-fold functionality.
The Model Y L also focuses on ride comfort and refinement, incorporating acoustic glass, an upgraded suspension system, and adaptive damping technology to enhance handling and reduce road vibrations. An enhanced in-car experience is delivered through an 18-speaker audio system with a subwoofer, as well as connected features like live traffic visualization, satellite-view maps, and streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Netflix.
Priced at Rs 61.99 lakh, the Model Y L offers financing options starting at Rs 49,000 per month, marking Tesla’s continued expansion in India. Tesla presently operates five Supercharger stations in India, with plans to add seven more along major highways connecting cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Tesla’s service approach includes a direct-to-customer model, providing over-the-air software updates and remote diagnostics to streamline maintenance requirements.
