Over 32,000 devotees have visited the holy Amarnath cave in Kashmir in the last two days. Authorities are advising unregistered pilgrims to register before undertaking the Yatra due to the heavy rush of pilgrims.
By Saturday evening, 20,145 yatris had completed the Yatra, with a total of 32,485 devotees having ‘darshan’ since the pilgrimage commenced on July 3. The weather along the yatra routes has been dry and partially cloudy, facilitating a smooth movement of devotees.
Tragically, two pilgrims passed away near the holy cave in the last two days due to cardiac arrest. One pilgrim, Parvin Chhaganlal Parvan from Gujarat, fell unconscious and was declared dead despite immediate medical attention. Another pilgrim, Arun Kumar from Haryana, also succumbed to breathlessness despite efforts to revive him at the medical post.
The yatra area is witnessing a significant influx of pilgrims, with many camping at various locations on their way to the holy cave. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) and the UT administration have made extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free yatra for the devotees.
