Rushi Barot, a tourist from Gujarat, compared the weather in Kashmir favorably to the scorching conditions back home, with temperatures soaring to 47 degrees Celsius due to the heatwave. He highlighted the welcoming nature of the locals and the memorable experience of staying in houseboats.
Another visitor, Chandni, shared her excitement about fulfilling her long-held desire to visit Kashmir with her family. She expressed joy at witnessing the scenic beauty and snow in the region, making her visit truly memorable.
Parts of north, central, and eastern India are expected to endure intense heatwave conditions, with the India Meteorological Department cautioning about severe heat in several states until at least May 28. Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR may witness light rain, thunderstorms, and a gradual decrease in temperatures towards the weekend.
Despite recent challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmir following a terror attack in Pahalgam in 2025, tourists have shown renewed interest in visiting the region. The attack briefly impacted tourism and investor confidence, leading to temporary closures of resorts and tourist spots as a precautionary measure.
