The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has pushed back the deadline for submitting comments and counter-comments on the vehicle-to-everything (V2X) consultation paper. The new dates are June 4, 2026, for comments and June 18, 2026, for counter-comments. Initially, the deadlines were May 28, 2026, and June 11, 2026, respectively.
The Ministry of Communications stated that the extension was granted in response to requests from stakeholders for more time to provide feedback. Interested parties can send their comments electronically to Akhilesh Kumar Trivedi, Advisor at TRAI. For further details or inquiries, Trivedi can be reached at +91-11-20907758.
V2X communication technology facilitates interactions between vehicles, infrastructure, pedestrians, and networks. It enhances road safety, traffic efficiency, and supports autonomous driving by sharing real-time data. India’s connected car market is rapidly growing, with a 25% year-on-year increase in 2024, driven by local automakers integrating connectivity features into their vehicles.
