The trailer for the upcoming psychological drama “Accused” was revealed by the makers. Actress Konkona Sen Sharma, portraying Dr. Geetika Sen, expressed how her character’s internal struggles under scrutiny resonated with her. Dr. Geetika Sen, a renowned surgeon and gynaecologist, faces a crumbling world as allegations of misconduct emerge at her workplace.

The film delves into Dr. Geetika Sen’s life as public judgment amplifies and her marriage to Dr. Meera is affected by the unfolding events. “Accused” opts for subtlety over sensationalism, capturing the tension and emotional complexity of the narrative. Konkona Sensharma, embodying Dr. Geetika Sen, highlighted the character’s battle with loss of control amidst escalating scrutiny.

Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and produced by Dharma Productions, the movie also features Pratibha Rannta. Scheduled for release on February 27, “Accused” challenges traditional storytelling by presenting the accused’s perspective. The trailer reflects the film’s theme of emotional turmoil and ambiguity, offering a unique cinematic experience.

Pratibha Rannta, playing Dr. Meera, emphasized the challenging nature of her role, navigating trust and uncertainty. Director Anubhuti Kashyap aimed to depict the consequences of unclear situations in “Accused,” exploring themes of power dynamics and emotional resilience. The film, premiering on Netflix, brings a fresh narrative approach to Indian cinema, focusing on vulnerability and survival from the accused’s viewpoint.

Konkona’s acting journey began as a child artist in 1983, leading to notable roles in Bengali and English-language films. Pratibha, starting with television, transitioned to films with impactful performances, including her role in “Laapataa Ladies.”
