Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized the importance of embodying Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s values of honesty, duty, self-sacrifice, and patriotism to inspire future generations. Speaking at the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Mukherjee in Agartala, Saha praised him as a patriot, educationist, parliamentarian, and statesman who contributed significantly to various aspects of national life.
During the event, the Chief Minister unveiled a plaque marking the commencement of a bronze statue construction in Mukherjee’s honor at the Town Hall premises. He highlighted that the statue would serve as a symbol of patriotism, national consciousness, and public service ideals for generations to come.
Saha underscored the need to showcase the lives and contributions of exemplary leaders like Mukherjee and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya to the public. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for following the life philosophies of these national figures to propel the country forward.
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder echoed Saha’s sentiments, emphasizing Mukherjee’s philosophy as a source of inspiration for dedicated service to the nation. Majumder announced plans for a paperless civil hospital named after Mukherjee in Agartala’s Kashari Patti area, alongside the completion timeline for the bronze statue project.
