Two brothers tragically lost their lives after being struck by a train in Bihar’s Kaimur district. The incident occurred near Barej village amid dense fog on the Dedicated Freight Corridor track. Identified as Prince Kumar (24) and Rohit Kumar (22), the brothers were on their way to their fields early in the morning when the accident happened.
Family members revealed that the brothers were heading to their fields, which required crossing the railway track. Due to poor visibility caused by the fog, they were unable to see the approaching train in time. The accident left the track stained with blood, causing shock and sorrow among the family and villagers.
Local residents expressed frustration over the lack of safe crossing facilities near the railway line. They demanded the construction of an underpass or overbridge near Barej village to prevent such tragedies in the future. Villagers highlighted the daily risk faced by hundreds of people who need to cross the tracks to access their farmland.
Authorities, including teams from the Railway Protection Force and local police, responded to the scene promptly upon receiving the report. RPF constable S.K. Pandey confirmed the deaths of the two brothers and stated that the bodies were being taken to Bhabua Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examinations.
