Uganda has reassured tourists that its national parks and tourist sites are safe to visit, with enhanced Ebola prevention measures in place. The Uganda Wildlife Authority has implemented strict health protocols, including thermal screening, sanitization, and handwashing facilities at these locations to safeguard visitors. Despite some tourists postponing trips due to Ebola concerns, the country emphasizes its commitment to safe tourism practices.

Authorities in Uganda have responded to the Ebola outbreak by enforcing preventive measures and containment efforts. While travel advisories have been issued by some countries, Uganda reports that the outbreak is under control, with no recent cases. The Ministry of Health confirms seven Ebola cases in Uganda, with affected individuals and their contacts placed in quarantine.

In response to the outbreak, Uganda has banned large public gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus. The Ministry of Health’s directive prohibits events that encourage close physical interaction, such as concerts, festivals, and political rallies. Exceptions are made for essential gatherings, subject to strict adherence to Ebola prevention guidelines, including controlled attendance, temperature checks, and hand hygiene protocols.

Security forces and local authorities have been instructed to enforce these measures rigorously, especially in high-risk and border areas, to restrict unnecessary movement and contain the disease effectively.
