Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan revealed approvals totaling Rs 3,818 crore for Madhya Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin schemes. This funding aims to enhance rural roads and housing for the underprivileged. A significant portion of Rs 2,055 crore was allocated under the PMAY-G scheme in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Addressing the event, Minister Chouhan reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring every impoverished family has a permanent home. He emphasized that eligible families identified through a new survey would undergo verification to receive housing benefits. The government’s goal is to provide permanent housing for all deserving beneficiaries.
In a move to bolster rural connectivity, Madhya Pradesh secured approval for 973 roads under PMGSY-IV, spanning 2,117.52 km with an estimated cost of Rs 1,763.08 crore. These projects are set to benefit nearly 1,000 habitations across the state. Minister Chouhan launched PMGSY-IV during the silver jubilee celebrations of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, underscoring the importance of village roads as pathways to prosperity and development.
