UP Warriorz have enlisted Australian player Charli Knott to replace Tara Norris, who will miss the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 season due to her selection in the USA national team for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in Nepal. Knott, an uncapped Australian all-rounder, will join the team at her reserve price of INR 10 lakh, making her debut in the WPL.
Charli Knott, known for her experience in top-level cricket leagues like the Women’s Big Bash League and The Hundred, brings a solid batting technique, disciplined off-spin, and versatile skills to the UP Warriorz squad for WPL 2026. The team’s Chief Operating Officer, Kshemal Waingankar, expressed best wishes for Tara and welcomed Knott, praising her potential to make a significant impact across various aspects of the game.
With Charli Knott’s inclusion, UP Warriorz aim to strengthen their squad for the upcoming WPL season, combining emerging talent with seasoned players. The team is gearing up to kick off their campaign on January 10 against Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Australian all-rounders Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland have opted out of WPL 2026 due to personal reasons, leading to replacements in their respective franchises. Sayali Satghare will replace Perry in Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while Alana King joins Delhi Capitals in place of Sutherland, bringing her experience as an Australian leg-spinner to the team.
