Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan, known for his iconic comedies in Bollywood, shared that he doesn’t find his own films funny when he watches them again. Making comedy movies has been one of the toughest parts of his career, he revealed in an interview. Despite his personal views, he finds solace in the audience’s positive reactions in theaters, acknowledging the impact his work has on viewers.
Priyadarshan emphasized the difficulty of blending humor with other genres like horror or thrill, calling comedy the most challenging genre to master. He expressed his apprehension about continuing in the comedy business, hinting at a possible shift away from the genre in the future. The acclaimed director is currently preparing for his next project, “Bhoot Bangla,” featuring a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and the late Asrani.
Scheduled for release on April 10, 2026, “Bhoot Bangla” is expected to showcase Priyadarshan’s signature style of chaotic yet humorous storytelling.
