The filming of director Rahul Sankrityan’s much-anticipated period movie, ‘Ranabaali,’ starring actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, has completed a significant schedule in Rayalaseema. Mythri Movie Makers, the film’s production company, shared the news on social media along with a video showcasing the warm reception received by the actors in the region.
Vijay Deverakonda, portraying the character of Ranabaali, expressed his joy at being in Rayalaseema, likening it to his hometown. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Jayamma, his wife, and Arnold Vosloo as the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector.
‘Ranabaali’ is a large-scale production by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar, presented by T-Series, set in the British colonial era. The storyline, based on historical events from the 19th century, aims to shed light on overlooked incidents from the 1850s that were misrepresented in history books.
The movie is not a biopic but a cinematic portrayal of the era, drawing from various authentic sources and suppressed records. This project marks the third collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna after ‘Geetha Govindam’ and ‘Dear Comrade.’
