A series of violent incidents in northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur area within 24 hours has raised worries about the law and order situation. The incidents involved two murders and a firing incident reported on Tuesday. Investigations are ongoing for all three cases, with multiple teams deployed to identify those responsible.
One of the incidents included the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy, the discovery of a 26-year-old man’s body with stab wounds, and a shooting incident where a 12-year-old boy was injured in the leg. In the case of the 17-year-old’s murder, the Delhi Police swiftly solved the stabbing within hours with the help of a dedicated team from the New Usmanpur police station.
The suspects involved in the murder have been identified as Nikki (21) and two juveniles aged 17 years. They confessed to the crime during questioning, revealing a dispute with the deceased. Both the victim and the accused belonged to the same community. Further inquiries into the case are ongoing to gather more details.
In a separate incident on Tuesday morning, the police found the body of a 26-year-old man named Lalit in the Brahmpuri area. Lalit was allegedly murdered, and a forensic team was called to the scene for evidence collection. A case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), with multiple teams formed to track down the suspects using CCTV footage and forensic evidence.
During another incident on the evening of June 1, miscreants fired shots in the Fourth Pushta area of New Usmanpur, injuring a 12-year-old boy passing through the area. Two suspects have been apprehended, and efforts are underway to capture a third individual. The police are actively investigating all three cases simultaneously, with further progress expected in the ongoing investigations.
