Police in Baghlan province, northern Afghanistan, found a weapon cache with various arms and ammunition, as confirmed by provincial police chief Mawlawi Abdul Haq Haqqani on Friday.

The cache was located in Deh Salah district on Thursday, with the official emphasizing the importance of preventing illegal possession or carrying of arms. Authorities are committed to maintaining law and order by confiscating weapons from unauthorized individuals.

In a separate incident, police in eastern Parwan province reported seizing 21 firearms and arresting 18 people. The Afghan government is actively working to collect arms and ammunition from those not part of the security apparatus to enhance post-war security.

In Uruzgan province, a significant weapons stash was recently uncovered, leading to the arrest of three individuals. The cache included various ammunition types, hand grenades, rocket shells, bullets, and other military supplies, according to local authorities.

In Helmand province, southern Afghanistan, police confiscated a cache of weapons and ammunition during an operation in Gereshk district. The seized items included Kalashnikov rifles, hand grenades, a mortar launcher, an M16 assault rifle, a shotgun, and numerous bullets and cartridges. One suspect has been arrested in connection with the case and is under investigation.
