West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar Agarwal refuted claims by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that he favored the BJP during the recent Assembly polls. Agarwal emphasized his role as a public servant, stating that his focus is on serving the people, not any specific political party.

Responding to allegations of physical assault on Banerjee during a visit to a counting center, Agarwal clarified that no formal complaint was lodged and highlighted the absence of CCTV footage to support such claims. He emphasized the importance of filing complaints in case of any attacks.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee supported Banerjee’s accusations of misappropriation in the vote counting process by the Election Commission. He alleged that Trinamool Congress agents were subjected to violence by the CRPF, raising concerns about transparency in the counting procedures.

Kalyan Banerjee criticized the lack of CCTV coverage during the counting process, questioning the transparency of the electoral proceedings. He accused the BJP and the EC of unfair practices during the counting, claiming a lack of accountability in the process.
