In a separate incident on December 26, 15 individuals were injured in a stabbing spree at a factory in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The Yokohama Rubber factory in Mishima was the site of the attack, leading to the arrest of Masaki Oyama (38) for attempted murder. Authorities responded to a call reporting multiple stabbings and a person splashing liquid at the factory, prompting an ongoing investigation.
Another stabbing case involved a 30-year-old man arrested in Fukuoka, Japan, for non-life-threatening injuries caused to a woman and a man at an event for the idol group HKT48. Naoya Yamaguchi, the suspect, confessed to the attempted murder of the man and his involvement in the attack on the woman. The incidents occurred at Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka and Boss E.Zo Fukuoka, venues associated with HKT48 performances.
