A video circulating on social media captures a young woman recounting an incident of alleged sexual harassment by an elderly man on the Namma Metro in Bengaluru. The woman, returning from work, described feeling uncomfortable when the man seated next to her behaved inappropriately. Despite her attempts to create space, she claimed the man intentionally touched her leg, prompting her to take action.
The woman narrated that she decided to confront the man after realizing the deliberate nature of his actions and the potential risk to other passengers. She asserted that upon reaching her destination, she stood up and slapped the man, who also disembarked at the same station. The woman further alleged that she slapped him again on the platform as he displayed conflicting emotions.
Following the incident, the woman involved the Metro security personnel, leading to both individuals being taken to the Metro office. Insisting on involving the police, she lodged a formal complaint at the Upparpet Police Station. Authorities reported that the incident occurred on December 23 around 7 p.m., resulting in a non-cognisable report for indecent behavior and sexual harassment. An investigation is underway, with the 45-year-old accused facing potential legal consequences pending the inquiry.
