Actress Zoya Afroz recently attended the screening of ‘Gandhi Talks’ where A. R. Rahman composed the music. Despite Rahman’s comments on industry discrimination based on faith, Zoya mentioned she hasn’t faced such bias in the industry. She emphasized the importance of unity in diversity in the country.

Zoya Afroz highlighted the role of movies as a reflection of society, stating that films depict life and should adhere to appropriate certification for different audiences. Meanwhile, A. R. Rahman faced controversy following his remarks on limited work offers in Bollywood and the influence of communal factors on opportunities. His comments stirred public and media backlash, with many perceiving them as indicative of bias within the industry.

A. R. Rahman later clarified his statements in a video, expressing that his remarks were misinterpreted and that he never intended to offend anyone. He reiterated his commitment to India as his inspiration and emphasized that his music is grounded in unity and cultural celebration.
