Tabish, a 17-year-old boy, recounted a harrowing assault in Uttarakhand after speaking in Kashmiri with his brother. The shopkeeper attacked them, causing Tabish serious head injuries and fractures. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah intervened, urging strict action and ensuring the safety of Jammu and Kashmir residents.

The Uttarakhand Police registered an FIR against the accused, Sanjay Yadav, under specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Political reactions in Jammu and Kashmir have been strong, with Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra expressing deep concern over the incident. Independent MLA Shabir Ahmad Kullay called for decisive action to prevent such assaults.

Various political spokespersons highlighted the challenges faced by Kashmiri youths, emphasizing the need to protect them from harassment. BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo assured that the matter is under investigation and perpetrators will face consequences.
