An accused individual, reportedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was apprehended by Patna Police in the Masaurhi area following an encounter. The arrest took place around 4 a.m., with the accused identified as Parmanand Yadav sustaining a bullet wound in his leg during the incident.
Parmanand Yadav, who had been evading authorities for a considerable period, was considered a significant law enforcement challenge. After allegedly committing a crime in the Beur locality and attempting to escape towards Jehanabad on a motorcycle, he was intercepted by the police.
City SP (East) Parichay Kumar stated that the accused, upon being signaled to stop, tried to flee, resulting in a fall due to a loss of balance. Subsequently, he purportedly fired at the police team, leading to a retaliatory action where he suffered a leg injury and was promptly hospitalized for treatment.
Police disclosed that Parmanand Yadav, hailing from Latehar district in Jharkhand, has a criminal record with over 20 serious cases, including murder and robbery, registered against him in various police stations. Allegedly associated with the Rahul Singh gang of Jharkhand, which has ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the accused’s capture is seen as a significant blow to criminal activities in Bihar.
