Actress Santhi Mayadevi has started dubbing for the much-anticipated Malayalam movie ‘Drishyam 3’, directed by Jeethu Joseph and featuring superstar Mohanlal. She shared a picture of herself dubbing for the film on her Instagram stories, hinting at her character’s involvement in the story as she wrote, “Inside the world of Georgekutty. Drishyam 3!”
Sources close to the production team have confirmed that the dubbing process for the film is progressing rapidly. ‘Drishyam 3’ is set to be released worldwide on April 2 this year. Mohanlal had finished shooting his parts for the movie in December, with a video of him celebrating the milestone with the crew becoming viral.
The movie, being the third installment in the successful franchise, began filming after a traditional puja ceremony near Kochi in September last year. Director Jeethu Joseph mentioned that ‘Drishyam 3’ would delve into the next phase of Georgekutty’s life, played by Mohanlal, after a gap of four-and-a-half years.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor, known for his collaboration with Mohanlal, expressed that the decision to proceed with ‘Drishyam 3’ was influenced by the overwhelming response to the previous movies. The team shot at various locations, including Thodupuzha, Vagamon, and Ernakulam, for the final schedule.
The ‘Drishyam’ films have garnered immense popularity in Indian cinema for their engaging narratives, suspenseful plots, and Mohanlal’s stellar performances. The first installment, released in 2013, set new standards in Malayalam cinema, while the sequel in 2021 witnessed remarkable success in theaters and on streaming platforms.
