Afghan police in Baghlan province have apprehended four individuals for drug trafficking. The suspects were captured in Pul-e-Khumri, the provincial capital, with a variety of narcotics, including hashish and heroin-related products. They are currently being investigated, with legal proceedings in progress.

In a separate incident, Afghan security forces destroyed three heroin processing labs and seized a significant amount of illicit drugs in Farah and Helmand provinces. Counter-narcotics operations led to the dismantling of these facilities and the recovery of substances used in heroin production.

As part of anti-drug efforts, 172 drug users were recently rounded up in Kabul and transferred to a rehabilitation center for treatment and assistance. Throughout 2025, Afghan forces conducted over 10,000 operations, confiscating 2,356 tons of illicit drugs and shutting down 517 clandestine drug labs.

In another operation, Afghan police in Laghman province destroyed a drug processing lab and arrested a suspect. Acting on a tip-off, authorities seized materials and equipment used in heroin production. Similarly, in Takhar province, police arrested a suspected drug smuggler transporting crystal methamphetamine and heroin production chemicals for sale in the provincial capital.
