Amaravati, the heart of Andhra Pradesh, received Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s praise after the Amaravati Bill was approved by the Rajya Sabha. Naidu hailed this as a historic moment for the state, emphasizing the significance of the decision.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude on social media for the unanimous passing of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026 in Parliament. He highlighted the perseverance of Amaravati’s farmers during challenging times, attributing the capital’s stability to their sacrifices.

Naidu extended thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his consistent support towards Amaravati, acknowledging his role in the city’s development since its foundation. He also appreciated Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Government of India for their contributions to this milestone.

The Rajya Sabha officially recognized Amaravati as the sole and permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh through the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The announcement was met with applause and support from members, marking a significant moment for the state.
