Charles R. Kaye, chairman of Warburg Pincus, praised PM Modi’s leadership, stating that India has solidified its position as one of the world’s most dynamic economies under his tenure. Kaye highlighted India’s importance to his firm, noting that it is their second-largest private equity destination globally and the largest market in Asia.
Lawmakers on Capitol Hill underscored the strategic relationship between the US and India. Rep. French Hill commended PM Modi for earning the trust of the people in the world’s largest democracy. Rep. Brad Sherman emphasized the natural partnership between the US and India as the oldest and largest democracies, expressing his congratulations on this historic milestone.
Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith expressed anticipation for enhanced trade and economic relations between the two nations, while Rep. Mike Haridopolos emphasized the increasing significance of the US-India partnership. Technology leaders also lauded India’s economic progress and digital transformation, with Jeetu Patel of Cisco highlighting the country’s focus on digital inclusion and technological advancement.
PM Modi, who assumed office in May 2014, has led the Bharatiya Janata Party to three consecutive national election victories. His tenure has seen sustained economic growth, advancements in digital infrastructure, and a heightened international presence for India. Over the past decade, the US and India have expanded cooperation in various areas, including defence, critical technologies, trade, and the Indo-Pacific region.
