Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah revealed several cooperative infrastructure and environmental projects in Rajasthan. These include laying the foundation stone for 10 new grain storage warehouses, opening 50 warehouses, transferring 100 warehouses to the Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation, and launching the ‘Sahkar Van’ project in Jaipur. The initiatives aim to boost agricultural infrastructure, expand storage capacity, support environmental conservation, and enhance rural self-reliance through cooperatives.
At the Ministry of Cooperation’s fifth Foundation Day celebration in New Delhi, Minister Shah virtually initiated the construction of 10 new grain storage warehouses and inaugurated 50 completed warehouses in Rajasthan. Additionally, he handed over 100 warehouses to the Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation, a move expected to strengthen the state’s agricultural storage and supply chain infrastructure significantly.
Minister Shah also conducted the e-Bhoomi Pujan for the ‘Sahkar Van’ project, which will cover 64 acres in Sumel village, Jaipur district. The project will involve planting indigenous tree species like Khejri, Rohida, and Neem, promoting ecological conservation through Miyawaki and conventional plantation methods. This initiative aims to blend environmental sustainability with the cooperative movement, encouraging community involvement in afforestation and fostering rural self-reliance.
