Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed admiration for a 116-year-old woman who walked to Tirumala to visit the Sri Venkateswara temple. The woman, hailing from Karnataka, trekked the Alipiri footpath, which consists of 3,550 steps through the Seshachalam hills, to reach the hill shrine.
The Chief Minister highlighted the woman’s devotion, emphasizing that age is no barrier to faith. A video of the centenarian trekking the Alipiri route has gained widespread attention on social media. In response to this inspiring act, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman B. R. Naidu announced a special darshan for her and her family members.
B. R. Naidu commended the elderly devotee’s unwavering faith and pledged to facilitate a VIP Break Darshan for her and her family. The 116-year-old woman, identified as Smt. Navaneethamma from Tamil Nadu, will receive this special privilege, staying with relatives in Jeevakona, Tirupati. The TTD chairman expressed joy in ensuring that the blessings of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy are bestowed upon her and her family always.
