Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed the names of four legislators set to be sworn in as Ministers alongside him on Tuesday. The chosen Ministers include former Union Minister Rameswar Teli, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president Atul Bora, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) leader Charan Boro, and senior BJP leader Ajanta Neog. Sarma expressed his happiness in making this announcement on social media, emphasizing their oath-taking ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Additionally, BJP MLA Ranjit Das has been selected as the NDA candidate for the Speaker’s position in the Assam Legislative Assembly. Sarma shared this news, stating that Das would represent the ruling NDA for the Speaker’s role in the newly formed Assembly. The Chief Minister-designate highlighted the collective effort of the new team towards the state’s progress and prosperity, extending his congratulations and best wishes to the appointed leaders.
The swearing-in event for the new Assam government is scheduled for Tuesday at Khanapara in Guwahati, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Shah, and various Chief Ministers and senior NDA leaders in attendance. Sarma’s unanimous election as the leader of the BJP Legislature Party and the NDA Legislature Party solidified his position for a second consecutive term as the Chief Minister of Assam.
