An employee of a private bank tragically fell to his death into a pit in West Delhi’s Janakpuri while riding a bicycle. The pit, part of a Delhi Jal Board project, had been fenced with green mesh. The body of the 25-year-old victim, Kamal Dhayani, was recovered along with his bike by the fire department.

The incident, reminiscent of a recent tragic death in Noida, sparked a political dispute in Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party accused the government of negligence. Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh responded by initiating an inquiry and forming a high-level committee to investigate the accident.

Expressing concern over the safety of citizens, the Minister emphasized the need for accountability and strict action. The Delhi Jal Board also launched an inquiry to determine if all necessary safety measures were in place. Any official found negligent will face consequences, as stated by the Board.

The victim’s brother mentioned that the incident likely occurred between 11:30 p.m. and midnight. He recounted the last conversation with his brother, who never made it home, prompting the family to contact the authorities.
