Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president and Union Minister for Health, J.P. Nadda, is set to arrive in Kolkata on Wednesday night for two significant meetings. On Thursday, he will participate in a health-related seminar in the city in the morning and later lead a crucial organizational gathering of the BJP’s state leadership. Following the organizational meeting, he will head back to New Delhi on Thursday evening.
A state committee member of the BJP confirmed that Nadda was invited by the state president and party Rajya Sabha member to address the party leaders during the organizational meeting. This closed-door meeting is anticipated to focus on the election strategy for the forthcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal. The BJP’s leadership is evidently prioritizing preparations for the state elections, with visits from prominent party figures like Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also scheduled.
During his recent visit to Kolkata, Home Minister Amit Shah advised the state BJP leadership on countering the Trinamool Congress’ propaganda, particularly regarding concerns among Matua community voters about potential voting rights issues. Shah emphasized the importance of engaging with the Matua community to address their fears and ensure the protection of their voting rights. Additionally, he instructed state leaders to combat misinformation spread by the CPI(M)-led Left Front and some Congress leaders alleging secret alliances between the BJP and Trinamool Congress.
