The BJP sees the recent Assembly elections as more than just a political shift, terming it a “social verdict.” Amit Malviya, the party’s National Information Technology Department head for West Bengal, emphasized the significant support from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes across states. In West Bengal, the BJP’s success in reserved constituencies was notable, winning 75% of SC seats and sweeping all ST constituencies.
The party’s strong performance extended to Assam, where the BJP and its allies dominated reserved constituencies. Notably, the BJP secured a majority of SC and ST seats, showcasing a broad support base. The strategic approach and outreach efforts in various regions were credited for the comprehensive victory in Assam.
Moving further south, the NDA allies in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry also saw success in SC reserved seats. Malviya highlighted that the election results signify a shift where marginalized communities are now asserting their own voices, emphasizing dignity and representation. The BJP’s success in SC/ST reserved constituencies is viewed as a reflection of aligning with the aspirations of these communities.
