Administrative offices in Rajasthan faced panic on Wednesday as bomb threats were received via email at the district collectorates in Baran and Bikaner. The threatening email, received in Baran, warned of a possible explosion at the Collectorate and included unusual instructions like barring entry to individuals wearing red sarees or shirts. The email also mentioned the potential use of a “human bomb” and contained unrelated and misleading statements.
In response to the alert, the Collectorate premises were evacuated promptly, and police teams were deployed to the scene. Bomb disposal and dog squads from Kota were summoned for a thorough search operation, while heavy police presence was maintained in and around the premises for heightened security.
A similar threat email was also received at the Bikaner District Collectorate, leading to immediate evacuations and intensive search operations. Additional Superintendent of Police Chakravarti Singh Rathore, along with other officials, supervised security arrangements at the site. All employees and visitors were safely evacuated from both locations, with security agencies conducting detailed inspections despite not finding any suspicious objects so far.
The Baran Collectorate has received four such threat emails recently, with the latest one claiming the presence of cyanide-filled bombs. Previous threats on specific dates in 2025 and 2026 had also resulted in evacuations and search operations. Authorities are taking these repeated threats seriously and are actively working to identify the source of the emails.
