The controversy surrounding the removal and resignation of former PMCH Principal Narendra Pratap Singh has escalated in Bihar. Health Minister Nishant Kumar emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards negligence and misconduct in the health department. Inspections of hospitals will be rigorous, with strict actions against any irregularities found.
A high-level inquiry committee has been set up to investigate the situation. Singh will have the opportunity to present his side before further decisions are made. The Health Minister highlighted that Singh was absent during an inspection despite being informed, leading to allegations of negligence and lack of communication during the visit.
Singh, citing injuries from hot water spillage, explained his absence. Following his removal, he resigned and expressed intent to address the issue. Geeta Sinha has been appointed as the new PMCH Principal. Surprise inspections of government hospitals will continue to enhance accountability and patient services in Bihar’s healthcare system.
