Haseen Mastan Mirza, daughter of the late underworld figure Haji Mastan, has reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for justice in a case involving alleged sexual assault, forced marriage, and illegal seizure of her property. Haseen recounted incidents from 1996 when she was sexually assaulted and coerced into marriage at the age of 12 by her maternal uncle’s son, Naseer Hussain. She emphasized that the troubles she faced began after her father’s demise and were unrelated to her identity as Haji Mastan’s daughter during his lifetime.
Stating that she was a minor when the alleged crimes occurred, Haseen detailed the harrowing experiences of rape, mental and physical abuse, and property deprivation after her identity was concealed. She highlighted her plea for stringent laws to instill fear in criminals openly committing offenses. Haseen expressed her struggles since 2013 in pursuing the case consistently due to financial constraints and lack of police support.
Haseen shared her traumatic journey, including a miscarriage at 14, attempts on her life, forced marriage, and subsequent abandonment. She attributed the crimes against her to greed and her father’s wealth, stressing that the perpetrators targeted her for monetary gain. Despite the challenges, she emphasized her pride in her father’s legacy and clarified her fight for justice was in his honor.
