The death toll from the recent earthquakes in Venezuela has climbed to 3,685, with 16,740 individuals sustaining injuries, as per an official update shared by Venezuelan National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez. A total of 17,907 people have been left homeless following the earthquakes. Since the magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 twin earthquakes on June 24, Venezuela has experienced 1,076 aftershocks.

Authorities reported that 17,345 individuals were displaced in addition to those left homeless. To aid the displaced and affected individuals, 80 temporary camps have been established by the authorities. As of the latest update, 29,567 rescuers, including 3,281 from abroad, are still actively engaged in searching for survivors.

Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, announced a seven-day national mourning period last week to honor the victims of the powerful earthquakes. She expressed condolences and solidarity with those affected by the tragedy. The country continues to mourn the human losses caused by the devastating earthquakes.
