After a fire broke out in Palam area, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for allegedly politicizing the incident. He mentioned that AAP members assaulted a BJP MLA during a condolence meeting and blamed the fire department. Sachdeva emphasized that the focus should be on the illegal storage of inflammable materials rather than shifting blame.
Sachdeva condemned AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj for disrupting the condolence meeting and accused him of trying to exploit the tragic deaths for political gain. He highlighted the need for a crackdown on unauthorized storage of inflammable materials in Delhi and mentioned a magistrate inquiry initiated by the concerned Minister in the Delhi government.
The Delhi BJP President pointed out that the building where the fire occurred had stored large quantities of inflammable materials on its lower floors. He criticized AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, for allegedly diverting attention from the core issue by blaming the fire department. Sachdeva stressed the importance of maintaining focus on the investigation inquiry and not getting sidetracked by irrelevant statements.
Police and fire department teams responded promptly to the fire in a four-storey building, where a cloth and cosmetic showroom was located on the basement, ground floor, and first floor. Several individuals were rescued, and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The Delhi government, led by the BJP, has initiated a magisterial probe to ascertain the cause of the fire and the circumstances leading to the casualties.
