Minister of State and Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra criticized former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for focusing on issues like NEET and fuel quality while ignoring the drug menace and crime in Punjab. Malhotra highlighted Kejriwal’s lack of contribution to pollution control and public transport improvement during his tenure.
As Punjab gears up for elections, Malhotra pointed out Kejriwal’s apparent fear of losing power. He accused Kejriwal of trying to stay relevant by commenting on various topics but neglecting critical issues in Punjab, including the drug problem and alleged disrespect towards the Sikh faith.
In a separate development, Delhi Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Verma announced the conversion of Kejriwal’s former official residence into a state guest house. The Delhi BJP had previously used alleged corruption in the renovation of Kejriwal’s residence as a major campaign issue in the state elections.
Minister Parvesh Verma criticized Kejriwal for extravagant spending on the renovation, showcasing expensive items like a Rs 1.5 crore kitchen and a Rs 88 lakh chandelier. Verma accused Kejriwal of hypocrisy, citing his earlier pledges against official accommodations while reportedly indulging in luxury upgrades.
