The Delhi BJP has raised concerns about the Aam Aadmi Party’s assertion of honesty following the departure of its internal Lokpal, Admiral L. Ramdas. BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor urged AAP leaders to clarify the circumstances leading to Ramdas’ exit and questioned the party’s commitment to transparent politics. Kapoor highlighted the trend of key figures leaving or being marginalized within the AAP, including several founding members and prominent leaders.
Kapoor emphasized the need for the AAP to address the reasons behind the departure of respected individuals from the party, questioning whether the leadership failed to maintain their colleagues’ trust. He expressed doubts about the AAP’s internal leadership style, citing the continuous exit of senior members as a cause for concern. Additionally, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized the AAP’s call to livestream the Privileges Committee meeting of the Delhi Assembly, particularly in relation to the ‘Faansi Ghar’ issue.
Sachdeva’s remarks coincided with the upcoming appearance of AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal before the Committee to explain the ‘Faansi Ghar’ controversy. He accused the AAP of resorting to falsehoods to cover up their mistakes, particularly regarding the labeling of the Old Secretariat as “gallows.” The BJP’s stance underscores a growing skepticism towards the AAP’s governance and transparency practices.
