The Delhi High Court postponed the hearing on Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s plea to halt the release of the movie “Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy” due to time constraints. The case, scheduled before Justice Jyoti Singh, will now continue on Friday. Salman Khan claims the film infringes on his personality rights by depicting events related to him without consent, particularly focusing on his 1998 blackbuck poaching case and alleged rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi.
Salman Khan’s legal team had earlier requested an injunction against the film, citing that its trailer and poster were already out despite no release date confirmation. The filmmakers’ counsel argued against urgent action, stating they hadn’t received all case documents. The dispute arose when Salman Khan’s team demanded the film’s halt and removal of promotional materials, including posters and publicity content.
“Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy,” directed by Bharat S. Shrinet and produced by Amit Jani, is said to be a mix of courtroom drama and crime thriller inspired by Salman Khan’s legal history and alleged conflicts.
