Four individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district. The incident occurred on National Highway 28 near Ratanpur village under the Motipur police station area on Sunday.

According to officials, a speeding Maruti Swift car collided head-on with a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction, resulting in critical injuries to the motorcyclist. The car subsequently crashed into a stationary container truck, leading to fatal injuries for all four occupants.
Eyewitnesses reported that the collision happened suddenly, leaving no time for preventive action. The bodies of the deceased were found scattered on the road, prompting locals to alert the police, who then initiated rescue and relief efforts.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, while the injured motorcyclist has been hospitalized for treatment. Two of the deceased victims have been identified as Sonu Kumar and Krishna Kumar from Hurraha village in Motihari district. Efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining victims and notify their families.
Initial investigations indicate that over-speeding and negligence were the main factors contributing to the accident.
