Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma, speaking at a gathering in Veraval, criticized Congress MLA Vimal Chudasama for being inactive despite a narrow election win. He attributed the town’s development to the BJP’s organizational strength and the active role of the BJP MP. Vishwakarma highlighted the differences in governance between the BJP and Congress, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for prioritizing development over regionalism, linguism, and casteism.
Vishwakarma also noted significant improvements in basic services like water and electricity supply. He acknowledged the transformation in these services, emphasizing the shift from water scarcity to readily available water and the establishment of 24-hour electricity supply across the state. The BJP President expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for initiatives that facilitated water supply to Saurashtra and Kutch through various schemes.
Discussing infrastructure, Vishwakarma mentioned the proposed coastal highway as a project that would enhance connectivity and drive regional growth. He emphasized that this highway would play a crucial role in advancing development in the region, positioning Gir Somnath as a top priority district for the BJP. Additionally, he highlighted agricultural support measures, including the Kisan Samman Nidhi relief package and procurement support prices, underscoring the importance of natural farming with the backing of Amul Dairy.
Vishwakarma further touched upon cultural and religious infrastructure initiatives under PM Modi’s guidance, such as the grand celebration of the Somnath festival, construction of the Somnath corridor, development of the Ambaji pilgrimage center, and the historic flag hoisting at Pavagadh. He also mentioned the completion of projects like the Ram temple, Kashi corridor, and Mahakal corridor. During the event, local Congress leaders Lalitbhai Lakhmabhai and Parbatbhai Merubhai Solanki, along with their supporters, joined the BJP.
